Sketchbook of Julianna Brion (美國 生活插畫家 )


 
很喜歡Julianna Brion 的插畫系列,她以開頁書本作爲畫布,
用水彩和簡單鉛筆完成一幅幅插圖。
這些圖畫,看似隨筆信手拈來,給人一種相當愜意又舒服的賞畫心情。
有些插圖簡單,卻令人玩味。她的插畫題材,幾乎是生活中隨處可見的物品。

About artist:
Julianna Brion was born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in a pink house in Greenwich Connecticut. After studying illustration and design at The Maryland Institute College of Art, she is now living and working as an illustrator in Baltimore with her cat, Ghostface, by her side. She enjoys quilting, picture books, cute puppies, and death metal.

some notable clients include: The New York Times, Plansponsor, The New Yorker, The San Francisco Chronicle, Bust Magazine, and The Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators
Her work has been acknowledged by The Society of Illustrators, American Illustration, CMYK "Top 100 New Creatives", and The Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.
Her work has been exhibited in Gallery Nucleus and Light Grey Art Gallery.

出生於紐約,成長於康乃迪格州,格林威治的一棟粉紅屋裏。在Maryland藝術學院主修插畫和設計。 目前,她和她的貓咪Ghostface(鬼臉)居住在巴爾的摩,從事插畫的工作。

Another Mars piece!  This one for The Atlantic about the future of martian colonization. The article was an interview with an enterprenuer who represents some investors that are beginning a company built around mining asteroids and future living on Mars. I thought it was pretty funny how flippant he was in addressing the idea of manned travel / colonization of another world.

 I got my copies last month and the binding came out beautifully.
Check it out if you’re into pulp tales of crime and passion, or it’s one sentence description of sadomasochism that made it the “50 Shades of Grey” of the 1930s.
